From the Cover
Karen Sutton was the only lady cop in a small town police department in Dinsmore, Illinois. Her partner was Ed Hawkins. She retired several years after her husband was killed in an auto accident. Painting had been her hobby for many years. She decided to try getting into the art world as a professional and went to a workshop. She met a world famous artist/instructor, John Whitcomb, and he became interested in her artwork. While there she received news of her best friend Margie Sloan's mysterious death. This brought her and Ed back together to investigate the death. Much of what goes on in the little town happens or is discussed at the local cafe. Many of the local townspeople become involved. Karen stays busy with preparations for her first art show in Chicago and the investigation while her friendship with Ed becomes serious.
